AOL close to Sony BMG video deal

Looks like AOL is getting serious in remaining a player in the portal market with rumors that they are in negotiation with Sony BMG on a content sharing deal. The strategy places AOL directly against Yahoo!, who has tried to win market share through signing up exclusive content rights with music and movie companies.

Ask Jeeves to Rebrand as Ask

More rumors on a change of name at Ask Jeeves
rumors are flying around MarketWatch that IAC will be dropping the Jeeves from Ask Jeeves and rebranding as Ask. In the piece, Biller is quoted as saying “We’re thinking about renaming it,…It probably won’t be called Ask Jeeves.”
