Microsoft buys into VOIP

Microsoft has bought into the VOIP market with the purchase of Teleo. The service is compatible with the SIP network, the same service Google is adding to its Talk product.
Marketwatch has some more details but its apparently going to be merged into MSN Messenger.

Google loses ground to Baidu

Google is underperforming in China’s booming search engine market, a recent survey has found.
According to Xinhau, Google’s share of China’s Internet search engine market is rapidly being eroded by its Chinese rival Baidu.com Inc, the quasi-government China Internet Network Information Centre (CNNIC) said yesterday.

60% of Blogger blogs Spam Blogs: test

A test from Google Blogscoped indicates that 60% of all blogs hosted on Google’s Blogger blogspot.com domain are spam blogs.
The test of 50 random blogs found 30 of them to be rubbish. A later test by the site of a further 100 blogs on blogspot.com indicated a spam rate of 42%.

Ask Jeeves Interested in Grouper File Sharing

Om Malik reckons that Ask Jeeves is looking into acquiring the Grouper peer to peer file sharing social network. Om sees the acquisition as a channel for Ask Jeeves to bundle its download offerings as well as show its new sponsored search advertisements.
