Google Forgot to Renew Google.de

Apparently Google, which is a domain registrar, is not to good remembering to renew it’s own domains… This week it dropped the domain Google.de and someone else grabbed it.
Luckily (for Google) this person just handed it back to them, this is not before he made a screencap of the lost domain…

Yahoo Like Google Homepage

Last month I wrote about Google lifting Yahoo’s design for it’s IE7 toolbar splash page, and today, GoogleWatch had put together a “What if” page titled What if Google Made a Yahoo-like Start Page?. It uses Yahoo’s design but lists all of Google’s properties in a “Googly-like” way.
Nice job there.

Google’s 2006 Top Searches are Not Really

After much controversy and criticism about it’s 2006 top searches list which started after terms such as “bebo” topped the list while the service itself is not as popular. Google came out and publicly commented about the way in which they measure those results.
In their clarification, Google writes today:
we do not simply retrieve the […]

Have you ever thought what would happen if Google had suddenly decided to buy your competitor and start advertising it’s newly purchased toy service through Google Adwords? That’s exactly what happened to this guy and it doesn’t look pretty.
The problem started when Google acquired Jotspot, a business team collaboration tool which goes in direct competition […]

GDirt Links

In the past few days I’ve seen a few instances in which “insiders” came out with facts about Google (or should I say against it?):

Google is allegedly in Bed with the CIA, I wonder what’s their favorite position? Google on top?
Google’s Internal Company Goals Leaked, that same leak as last year, anyone minds getting a […]

“THE Google”

President George Bush doesn’t use “the Google” often. He does, however, like using that map program which he couldn’t name (Google Maps) to view his awesome ranch and fantasize. He also doesn’t e-mail. He also probably doesn’t know what the hell the reporter is talking about.
Do you think he ever searched for miserable failure?

Google TV on it’s Way?

Google TV has been speculated in a while, but looking into some of the recent job openings at Google may help predicting their real intentions. Radioactive Yak had took the time to look into these openings and this is his observation:
“Google are advertising for an Interactive TV Product Manager in Mountain View, as well as […]
