Competitors in SEO competition reports blackhat findings to Google
Have you participated in any SEO competition? Did you use any blackhat, grayhat techniques that you don’t like mighty old google to find out? There’s a chance that they already know.
According to a post at searchenginejournal, 28% do report their competitors to google if they find out their competitors use some shady tactics. Since it is a competition then I think there are no rules to prevent people from reporting their opponents to the search engines. Anything to get that #1 spot for the competition keyword.
To be on the safe side, I guess it would be better to use whitehat techniques. Just imagine, spending a lot of time doing white hat SEO and then one day you implore some blackhat technique (ie. join link farms, spam..etc) and then get penalized for that. I don’t think the benefits of doing any blackhat is that big specially on SEO competition where your opponents most probably know what you are doing.
So how about you? Did you report your competition to Google during any of the SEO competition you joined?
