Cranky Search for Cranky People
Cranky.com is a new search engine aimed at simplifying the search process for the elderly. The engine is based on a 5000 site directory favored by those 45 y/o and above and is monetized by ASK ads. Cranky also add a social twist to its results, allowing users to rate the results as well.
I ran a couple of searches, and it seems as if titles and descriptions are fetched directly from the sites, and not a directory, so I am not sure how exactly it is working, but maybe more will be revealed in the next few days as it is getting a lot of exposure on the net and TV this morning.
