So how do you go about finding a job as an SEO analyst? Well, here are some tips you may want to consider:

1. Learn basic HTML and Java. While these are not always necessary for a career as an SEO Analyst, they certainly help.
2. Learn programming for Search Engines. Study boolean search programming to gain a better understanding of Search Engines.
3. Become a webmaster for a web site and learn important SEO tools such as link building and link sharing and search term optimization.
4. Ask web-savvy friends if they personally know anyone working in SEO. Contact this person and inquire about employment opportunities.
5. Send resumes to various search engine optimization companies.
6. Get hired.

In the report, Oakes had said, “It wouldn’t be sensible to focus your accommodation website around the term ‘luxury Wynberg villa’ if there is no demand for it.” And that is definitely a good point to consider. Why would you be using such a keyword if there are no people searching for that? Who would then be finding their way to your site?

Indeed, keywords is not everything. You would also have to look if there would be traffic coming in for the keywords you would be using.

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG)  launched last July 23 a new service called Google Knol.   The way I see it, this is just a glorified article directory where anybody can write an article and post it as a knol.

There are many opinions about Google Knol and its purpose.  Some people say it is meant to be a direct competition of Wikipedia.   Some say it will look more like about.com where the articles are based on the author’s expertise.

What’s nice about Google Knol is that authors can paste their adsense codes and monetize their knol. As mentioned in their Terms of Service

Knol provides Owners the option of allowing Google-placed advertisements to appear alongside their knols through AdSense for Content, Google’s content-targeted advertising program

Just like wikipedia, all content in google knol is protected by the Creative Commons CC-BY-3.0 license.   This states that the articles in google knol can be copied, distributed, and adapted as long as proper attribution is done.

As part of the study, it was also found out that in the United States, companies are spending half of their online marketing budget on SEO. And that is perhaps one of the main reasons as per the increase of expenses on SEO.

MarketingSherpa’s research director, Stefan Tornquist, has mentioned, “It’s designed to be one-half yardstick with benchmarks and standards for success and one-half inspiration with explorations of what’s working, what’s not and what’s on the horizon.”

The report did further share that Google is just about to purchase this giant of a site for $200 million. Now that is a hefty amount of money but knowing the powers that Digg has, that amount would be just right. And it seems that if this report is true, then Google would be using Digg in the news services that the search engine giant is offering.

So what do we know about Digg? Well, this site is fairly new. It started out back in 2004. it is currently one of the most popular sources of news and stories. Users could submit stories that they like and those who do read through the lot could vote which they like most. The one with the most number of votes would surely find a place at the top of the ranks.

Now I must have gotten your attention already. So you’re asking me now just how to go about with that. Well, it is fairly simple. With a little tweaking on the HTML, you could go a long way.

First off, before you upload your image, make sure that it is properly named. You can put in the relevant keywords as the name of the image. Then you could upload it. Those sites which host images take the name of the image and use it as part of the permalink of the image.

Then, when you are using the image already on the site, make sure that you describe it with tags. How do you go about that? Just add alt=”description” in the code for your image. Well, here is an example:

Now, that’s the thing that we have to consider. A site’s content is important. It is actually very important that most people in the SEO industry say that content is king. It is what brings people to return to the site. Fresh and worthwhile content keeps readers and visitors hooked.

On the other hand, if the content that you put on your site is just all about adding keywords that are relevant to your site, that would not be helping your site that much. As experts say, what you should put in your site is fresh, relevant, and quality content. It is not the quantity that matters. It is always quality that keeps the visitors coming in.

Now, if you would be advertising your site the old fashioned way – print, broadcast, and online – you would be shelling out quite a sum of money. The good thing about SEO is that you would be able to bring in more customers through the technique known as SEO. The disadvantage though of SEO is that it would mean having to spend much time on your computer. But the effects are great. This would be really a great thing to apply to your site if you have a small business going on.

Julie Batten, an expert on the subject, has also claimed that if you do such, the effects would be greatly maximized. Now that is something that most sites do not actually have. You would be having a greater advantage because of that. See, come to think of it, it would be like difficult to add in your SEO techniques if the site is already built. It would be like putting up a structure and you would want some designs changed. If you want the structure to be done well, you put in your design ideas right when it is still under construction.

When using a music search engine,  I expect to search either for a specific song, or I enter an artist and expect to see a list of songs by that artist.    I don’t want to see wikipedia articles or news about those artists.

I tried doing a search for “Duran Duran”, one of my favorite bands in the 80’s and here’s what songza returned.

Songza returned a list of  Duran Duran songs.   The nice thing about this is that if I click one of the songs,  it’ll play it.   Really cool!

The second music search engine I tested was Seeqpod.   Here’s what seeqpod returned.

Honestly, I didn’t like  what I saw.    I has a couple of links to you tube.    Does this mean that if I create a video at youtube and I include the word  “Duran Duran” in the title  my video would be included in this search result page?  Hmm….  we might be seeing a new form of spam. … ‘video spam’.

The 3rd music search engine I tested was skreemr.  Here’s what it looks like.

This one seems better.     One of the results was  “The Reflex” which was a very good Duran Duran song.    I noticed that the link pointed to this file “http://musicglob.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/duran-duran-the-reflex.mp3″

When I click that link,  it’ll play the song.

I guess by creating a music search engine which crawls the net in search for mp3 files uploaded on websites and indexing it,  these search engines won’t be liable for copyright infringement since technically,  those mp3 files are not hosted on the search engines.    They just “found” these files and returns a list of urls where it can be found.

People can then just do a right click and click “save as” and these mp3 files would be downloaded to their hard disks.

• URL Naming: If possible try to place your prime targeted keyword as your domain name. This will help you to advertise your business at the first impression.
• Title Tag: Decorate your title tag with your utmost preferable keywords of your business in a smart and eye checking manner.
• Meta Descriptions: Sketch your proper business announcement with simple words for catching concentration of the visitors who are searching similar kind of product or service which your website is going to deliver them. Possibly you can punch your keyword into that description but in a tricky way.
• Crawler Notification: All kind of search engine crawler notifications like SE robots instructions, website owner and publisher declaration, website language, copywriter name etc. should go from the Meta portion of all your web page.
