Google Buys Stakes in Maxthon Browser
This morning it was announced that Google had bought stakes in the Maxthon browser project. The idea is that Google will be able to gain more reach in China and switch some Baidu users over to Google.
Maxthon amounts to 25% of Baidu’s traffic and even had Baidu as its default search engine, but all of this is about to change as it is predicted that the default engine will change into Google across all countries.
