Google Domination in Print and Video in 2008
While economy may be slowing down, analysts keep their predictions that we will not stop searching the net and, therefore, Google is destined for growth while everyone else may be dieing.
WIRED writes this weekend:
“Google continues to gain market in search queries while continuing to face a bevy of competitors,” Peck released in a research note today. “Further, Google’s efforts in online video, radio and print have added a layer of value that is absent from its competitor’s portfolio of offering and which has the potential to yield significant financial rewards.”
Washington Post adds:
“Your Googles and Apples of world are doing great. They’ve really been really innovative, which is what technology is sort of all about,” said Karen Dolan, an analyst at investment research provider Morningstar.
In the third quarter, tech funds showed a 6.6 percent return, Morningstar said. The funds were up 17.8 percent for the first three quarters of the year and 24.9 percent for the past 12 months.
“These funds did experience a quick rebound in 2003, but really tech funds have lagged since the bubble burst,” Dolan said.
Both articles also bash on Yahoo that while they did form some alliances with several newspapers and magazined they are more of a follower company always trying to keep up with Google’s innovation and may, therefore, struggle in making it.
