Google Launches Custom Search Business Edition

by Gilad on July 18th, 2007

Google’s search technology is now available for small business at the low price of $100/year. This new attempt to use their available resources in order to diversify their income even further will be available to sites with up to 5000 pages where larger sites with as much as 50,000 will have to fork $500/year.

According to Google’s announcement:

businesses have asked us for greater flexibility and support — and we’re addressing these needs with CSBE. Businesses that want further control over results presentation and integration with their website can obtain results through XML. Now those of you with business sites have the option to turn off ads and have further control over branding.

One powerful feature in improving a website and responding to your visitor’s needs is reviewing the different terms searched on your site. I doubt one will have access to such details and am sure that Google will use this information for their own purposes, but hell, if you don’t have any search at all on your site, having such feature can inprove usability and eventually convert better so I guess you’ll have to do your own math on that one.
