Google Video Starts Indexing Other Video Sites
Google video started indexing other video sites (such as MetaCafe). The interface offers a “preview” of the original video, title, short description and a screencap. Problem is, that the “preview” in many cases covers the entire video so users don’t even need to visit the original site.

In the above case the Google Video, indeed shows the entire 83 seconds of the video. Since it is not an original creation of MetaCafe (they do not own the copyrights), I can’t see them creating a big fuss about it, but as more and more videos will be added this can be a major copyright issue. This is, most likely, an attempt to test the grounds for a wider use of such “previews” feature. If this case passes the courts I can see it implemented into web search as well.
To their defense I must add that the regular web-search does show a thumbnail/screencap from the video, making it a very attractive click for surfers.
