Google’s ‘Remove Results’ Reviewed

by Gilad on September 24th, 2005

Matt Cutts discusses on his blog a recent user-interface experiment on Google that adds the ability to remove results.

To activate this feature:

Go sign up for My Search History/Personalized Search. You don’t have to store your searches, but you will need a Google Account.

Once activated, you’ll see the following ‘Remove Results’ link:
Google Remove Results - Phase 1

If you choose to really remove a site, it will initially appear like this:
Google Remove Results - Phase 2

Lastly, should you like to remove it entirely from your account’s results, just click on ‘more options’ and select the appropriate option:
Google Remove Results - Phase 3

I tried this feature under Firefox, and it did not work (sites did not get removed). I then switched to IE and it worked just fine. So, I’d thing that this ‘experiment’ needs some work still, but it is still a neat feature.
