Green Maven - Search the Green Web
Here are b5media tech channel, we have a channel wide event called “Tech Channel Goes Green”. I was looking for a good material for this. One of my plans is to make a post about those green search engines where the color of the website is just green and black, or black and white, or something similar which is supposed to save a little bit of electricity since the theory is that, black background uses less electricity (other tech guys says it consumes the same amount of electricity).
So I tried searching for the keyword “Green Search Engine” and I came across a site called greenmaven.com. I find this site interesting. GreenMaven is actually an aggregator of green websites. Basically it gets the feed of popular green related sites so that people can just go to greenmaven and see what’s new. They call it “Green News Reader”.
They also have a green search engine. According to the website
We’ve built the world’s first comprehensive Green Search Engine based on Google’s Coop Search technology. Rather than searching the entire web, your search yields “green” results.
I think students and people who are doing research on anything green will find this site helpful.
Greenmaven is also maintaining a “green directory” which contains websites, blogs, suppliers of anything related to the green revolution.
So there you go, another good “search site” for searching anything “green”.
