Live.com Warns Webmasters of Link Purchases
Live.com/MSN is reportedly warning webmasters from purchasing / exchanging links with old sites. In a recent SEW thread, the writer quotes an exclusion email from Live.com:
Your site is acquiring links through posting to or exchanging links with sites unrelated to your site content. Techniques which attempt to acquire unrelated spam links in order to increase ranking are considered spam and your site has been excluded from our index as results. Please contact us once you’ve removed these links and we will reevaluate.
Seems like the old, off-topic guestbook / blog / link-trade links which may trigger a filter at Live.com. Solution may be to stay on topic with your spam, spam only in “virgin” territory or, don’t spam… It may be very difficult to remove some of these links after they are placed so think twice before-hand.
