MSN Search, Where Are You?
MSN’s search engine has aparently been down for several hours today. Threadwatch noted over 3 hours of downtime between 8:35am and 12:00pm (PST), and even then, as search homepage appeared, it still returned the error message:
This service is currently unavailable
Our team is working to restore service as quickly as possible. Please try your request again later.
Their is no clarification on their blog, nor anywhere else. However, Barry found this piece given to the WSJ:
A Microsoft spokesman said the outage began at about 8 a.m. Pacific time. At noon, the service was still down, but shortly afterward began working again. The spokesman said company technicians have been working on the problem, but have not yet concluded what caused the shutdown in the first place.
